Sifu Live-Action Adaptation Announced With John Wick Creator Derek Kolstad

John Wick creator Derek Kolstad and Story Kitchen are set to adapt the Kung-Fu third-person action game Sifu into a live-action feature film. As reported by Deadline, Story Kitchen has partnered with Sifu developer Sloclap after a "competitive pursuit" to bring this game to the big screen. Kolstad will be adapting the script, and he will produce alongside Story Kitchen's Dmitri M. Johnson, Mike Goldberg, Dan Jevons, Timothy I. Stevenson, and Jeff Ludwig. For those unfamiliar, Sifu puts you in the shoes of a young Kung-Fu student who is on a brutal journey of revenge. One of the unique parts of Sifu is that players will age every time they die and go from student to master and see their skills improve. In our Sifu review, we said its "brutal learning curve and unique structure that requires you to beat it in just one lifetime are significant barriers to overcome, but on the other side is truly one of the best modern action games around." Before Sifu f

Ang Lee's Son Will Play Bruce Lee in New Biopic

Hollywood's favorite martial arts legend Bruce Lee is getting the big screen treatment at Sony. Ang Lee, renowned for his work on movies like Life of Pi and Brokeback Mountain, is directing the biopic, and his son, Mason Lee, is attached to star in the film as the Chinese American star. According to Deadline , the film is currently in development at Sony's 3000 Pictures with Dan Futterman adapting the script from Jean Castelli, Alex Law and Mabel Cheung and Wells Tower's earlier screenplays. Futterman's previous writing credits include hits like Capote and Foxcatcher. “Accepted as neither fully American nor Fully Chinese, Bruce Lee was a bridge between East and West who introduced Chinese Gung Fu to the world, a scientist of combat and an iconic performing artist who revolutionized both the martial arts and action cinema,” Ang Lee said in a statement. “I feel compelled to tell the story of this brilliant, unique human being who yearned for belonging, possessed treme

The Super Mario Bros. Movie: All the Secrets and Easters Eggs in the Second Trailer

Image
The second trailer for The Super Mario Bros. Movie has arrived, and unlike the brief teaser that we saw in October , this trailer is jam-packed with enough details, references and Easter eggs to sink an airship. Strap on your helmets and find your nearest Kart or Motorbike, it’s time to break down all of the plot details, and deep-cut references that we found in the new Super Mario Bros. movie Trailer. Mario Enters the Arena The trailer starts with a shot of Mario nervously walking out into a crowded arena as the soundtrack references the iconic theme of World 1-1 from the Super Mario Bros. NES Game. As the crowd chants Mario’s name, we’re reminded of this famous Super Mario Bros 3 commercial , featuring a crowd of Mario Fans so large that they can be seen from space. Mario vs. Donkey Kong Mario and Donkey Kong are standing on a bright-red girder, and in this shot you can see other details, such as a blue ladder, barrels and tires suspended in the air, and more red platfor

Major Marvel Snap Update Fixes the Pool 3 Climb, Adds Multiple New Cards

A new Marvel Snap update has added a bunch of new cards plus a new way to earn them. The update, called The Power Cosmic, will add a number of new cards including Thanos, She-Hulk, and Galactus… and perhaps most importantly, introduces Collector’s Tokens. “We're planning to patch at 3 PM Pacific today!” said Marvel Snap creator Ben Brode. “Once you log into the new patch the game will look at your Collection Level and grant your Collector's Tokens. Have fun! Can't wait to see what new decks everyone will build!” Collector’s Tokens are a brand-new mechanic which should make acquiring those last finishing touches to your latest deck a little bit easier. The idea is simple – players are awarded Collector’s Tokens by increasing their Collector’s Level, and these can be spent in the Store to purchase new cards. Essentially, it’s a new kind of currency that’s a neat way of picking up one or two cards to finish off your latest deck. The number of Collector’s Tokens you

Pokémon Scarlet and Violet Players Are Majorly Struggling With Online Tera Raids

As more and more players finish the main storyline of Pokémon Scarlet and Violet, many are dipping their toes into their primary ongoing endgame content: Tera raids. But increasingly, these players are voicing their displeasure with ways in which these raids are extremely broken. According to players, the newest Pokémon games suffers from poor matchmaking, lag, long animations, unforgiving timers, bugs, and ill-equipped players are actively ruining the experience. Here's how Tera raids work. Players can find sparkling Tera crystals scattered around the world of Paldea that, when interacted with, offer the opportunity to battle a powerful Terastallized Pokémon. These Pokémon are usually significantly more powerful than regular wild Pokémon, and often have a Tera type (basically this Pokémon generation's battle gimmick of choice) that's uncommon for their species. For instance, a Gyarados (normally a Flying/Water-type) might have a Dragon Tera type. If you're just p

The Pokémon Community Has Discovered a Major Issue With Scarlet and Violet's Battle Stadium

The issues surrounding Pokémon Scarlet and Violet are largely performance-based; low framerate, extreme pop in, and camera clipping are just a few examples. But now Pokémon fans have seemingly discovered a new issue in Scarlet and Violet that is having a big impact on the competitive battling scene. As posted to Twitter by Anubis , fans believe Scarlet and Violet's Battle Stadium is currently using the same RNG (random number generator) seed for every single battle. Basically, this means players can figure out what moves will hit and what moves will miss every single time depending on which turn of the battle it is. For example, apparently movies with less than 91% accuracy always miss on the first turn of a Battle Stadium fight. Uh oh. Pokémon Scarlet/Violet Battle Stadium currently is using the same RNG seed for every battle. This allows us to choose moves to ensure that OHKO moves such as Sheer Cold always hit! pic.twitter.com/lSlBJr1AF6 — Anubis (@Sibuna_Switch) Novem

Score an Xbox Series S for Under $200 With This Cyber Monday Deal

Cyber Monday deals have started, and with it the best deal we've seen yet on the Xbox Series S console. The Xbox Series S dropped to as low as $239.99 on Black Friday and we thought that was the best deal we were going to get. We were wrong. Right now, Amazon is still offering the Xbox Series S Holiday console for $239.99. However, if you enter the coupon code " XBOX " during checkout (it may be automatically applied), you'll also get a free $40 Amazon credit. Amazon credit is basically as good as cash, and that means you're paying $199.99 for this current gen console. Xbox Series S for $239.99 + $40 Amazon Credit The Xbox Series S is normally priced $200 less than the Xbox Series X but can still play all of the same games. If you don't have a 4K TV or feel like the

8 Best PS5 SSDs For 2022

Between Final Fantasy XVI , Resident Evil 4 Remake , and The Callisto Protocol , the PS5 is about to get a lot of good games, and if you want to keep them around for easy access, you're going to need an SSD to slot into your PS5. After all, the console comes with less than a terabyte of storage space. That's hardly enough for you to keep all your favorite games, let alone record video clips, take screenshots, and save other data. The good news is upgrading your PS5 storage has never been easier, thanks to the secondary M.2 SSD slot that lets you add a second SSD, similar to adding storage to your gaming PC . Luckily, the best PS5 SSDs are a big step over the days of using a slow external hard drive. Your secondary drive operates as fast as the PS5's primary storage, so loads and saves are quick, and transferring games takes mere moments. Of course, you need to buy a compatible SSD that fits and is fast enough, which means you need an NVMe PCIe 4.0 drive with 5,500MB/s

Get Horizon Forbidden West Launch Edition at Walmart for $35

Black Friday deals are in full swing, and it wouldn't be a proper sales event without Walmart posting tons of deals on video games. Horizon Zero Dawn made a big splash in the PlayStation ecosystem, and Horizon Forbidden West amped everything up even further with PlayStation 5 optimizations, vastly improved visuals, and expanded gameplay. If you've been looking to jump in, you are in luck because Walmart has a $35 discount, bringing Forbidden West down to just $35. Horizon Forbidden West - Black Friday Deal For reference, we gave it a 9/10 in our review. Here's our verdict: "A triumphant combination of enthralling combat, top-tier creature and character design, and a captivating open world, Horizon Forbidden West is an absolute blast and fantastic showcase for the power of the PS5. Although the return of a couple of familiar series trappings and a noticeable lack of freeform climbing never threatens to derail the enjoyment, it does leave it falling frustratingly

Deus Ex Go, Hitman Sniper, and Other Former Square Enix Montreal Games Set to Shut Down

The company formerly known as Square Enix Montreal, Studio Onoma, announced that it will be removing several games from the App Store and Google Play Store, including Deus Ex Go, Hitman Sniper: The Shadows, Arena Battle Champions, and Space Invaders: Hidden Heroes. The games will be delisted from storefronts on December 1 and players will not be able to access the games after January 4, 2023. In-game purchases have also been suspended immediately, but players can still use in-game purchases they have already bought. If they go unused, however, they will not be refunded. pic.twitter.com/JJx0GWdIfe — Onoma (@StudioOnoma) November 22, 2022 Earlier this month, it was reported that Onoma’s parent company, Embracer Group, would be shutting down the studio and its staff would be transferred to Eidos Montreal. Onoma was formerly known as Square Enix Montreal and was purchased by Embracer Group back in May, along with the rest of Square Enix’s western studios. However, it was only re

Sonic Frontiers Is One of Black Friday's Best Deals

With Black Friday kicking off well ahead of, well, Friday, we've already seen some truly excellent deals. The Black Friday Nintendo Switch deal returned once again, giving you a free copy of Mario Kart 8 and 3-months Nintendo Online, but we've also seen exciting new deals like price cuts on Sonic Frontiers. Sonic Frontiers Black Friday Deals Best Sonic Black Friday Video Game Deal Sonic Frontiers at Best Buy Sonic Frontiers at GameStop Our Sonic Frontiers review scored it a "7," which I think is perfectly reasonable. Yet in spite of its flaws, I honestly love this game? I didn't think I was going to enjoy it very much going in. I'm not a Sonic-guy. I respect Sonic and love the Genesis entries, but beyond that I don't have much attachment or love for the series. But I decided to give Frontiers a chance and I am not joking when I say it's on my short-list for game of the year. Yeah, it has issues, but I'm having so much fun with it, I'

And also take a look at our Resident Evil 4 VR review , which our critic scored a winning 9 out of 10. As someone who has a Meta Quest 2 owner, I can highly recommend it. Not having wires is one of those things you don't realize is great until you experience it. My first VR experience was with PSVR, which was pretty amazing, but it had tons of limitations, including the bulky wires and less th
