Thousands Of People Called Madden's Player Rating Hotline In A Single Day

Image
All of the NFL players in Madden NFL 23 have ratings and you can freely look at them on EA's official site . Is Kenny Pickett ranked high enough at a 68? If you don't think so, you can call into Madden NFL's ratings adjustor hotline (at 689-278-3030) to recommend it go up or down. Thousands of people called in within the first day of the hotline launching, and from EA's snarky Twitter tone, it would appear most of them are complaints, likely about a beloved players rating being too low or a hated players rating being too high. Shoutout to the thousands of fans who called into the #Madden23 Ratings Hotline yesterday to let us know they 𝓐𝓖𝓡𝓔𝓔 with our ratings☎️😉 — Madden NFL 23 (@EAMaddenNFL) July 29, 2022 According to Emma Waldren, Madden’s creator of content strategy and partnerships, over 1,000 people called in within just six hours. 1000 of you called the #Madden23 #RatingsAdjustor hotline in the first six hours 🤯 — Emma Waldren (she/her) (@emmalwald...

Ass Creed meets Ass Pan in the year's weirdest videogame crossover event

Image
Imagine, if you will, Ezio Auditore da Firenze, dropping silently onto his prey from the rooftops of Renaissance Italy—but instead of plunging his infamous wrist dagger into their neck, he beans 'em a good one with a cast iron frying pan. Impossible? Well, yes, in the game at least, but not in the realm of fan fiction anymore thanks to a collaboration between Ubisoft and Krafton that will bring Assassin's Creed to PUBG in August. Beginning August 17 and running until September 22, PUBG players will have the opportunity to earn themed cosmetics including: Costumes (x2 sets)         Bag Skins (x2 sets)         Parachute Skin         Emote         Gun Charm         Spray Item (x2 sets) The actual costumes, sprays, and skins available in the event aren't specified, but a similar crossover is in the works for Krafton's mobile battl...

The Biggest 2022 Games Delayed To 2023

Image
Game delays are a part of life. You know the old saying, a delayed game is…well, you know. It’s undeniably a bummer to see a title you’re excited about slip into the following year, but it’s generally for the best to ensure a quality product at release. 2022 has had a growing handful of high-profile setbacks, and we’ve assembled them all in one alphabetized list for a handy reference. EA Sports PGA Tour First announced in 2021 with a Spring 2022 launch window, PGA Tour marks EA’s return to making golf games after a years-long hiatus. The publisher nabbed exclusive rights to the Masters Tournament and the game even includes the Ladies Professional Golf Association. Unfortunately, we don't know much more about the game besides a few courses and events, and EA has only offered vague timeframes for launch. It recently pushed the game to Spring 2023, a year after its original projected arrival.  Forspoken Luminous Productions' fish-out-of-water fantasy ad...

You can use those sweet new Nintendo 64, NES, SNES, and Sega Genesis controllers on Steam now

Image
Steam Input now supports those lovely new Nintendo Online classic controllers, thanks to yesterday's patch . Steam Input is Valve's built-in software for letting people use whatever controller they like, and mapping the buttons and functions properly so a game recognizes them even if it only officially supports the Xbox gamepad. The Nintendo Online controllers are re-releases of the classic Nintendo 64, NES, SNES, and Sega Genesis/Mega Drive controllers. They're for sale on Nintendo's online shop (though often sold out), and were intended to be used with Switch's subscription service, but the Switch uses Bluetooth, not some proprietary wireless tech. So clearly someone at Valve did what we were all thinking and made them work on PC. (Thanks, anonymous engineer.) This but it's a Steam Deck and I guess you improvise some kind of kickstand. Valve do what Ninten also do? I'm not sure. This caption got away from me. (Image credit: Nintendo of America) ...

Gaming RDY SLHBG216 review

Image
The $1,500 gaming PC is a competitive space to be in, especially as the price of components has trended downward to near-normal levels in the past few months. There are a lot of people that have held out on looking for the best gaming PC , waiting for prices and inventory to stabilize so that they can make a big purchase without worry or guilt. The iBuyPower Gaming RDY SLHB216 (rolls right off the tongue) comes into this hotly contested category of modest gaming PCs with a build that's impressive, but isn't without its caveats for the pickier players out there. The Gaming RDY SLHBG216 isn't customizable. You can't pick and choose what sort of processor, graphics card, RAM, and storage go into it. You add it to cart and it'll be shipped to you exactly as it's listed on the website. Like a lot of other PC building companies, iBuyPower lists the average framerate for modern games, including Elden Ring , Lost Ark, Fortnite, GTA 5, League of Legends, CS:GO, Call o...

MultiVersus turns LeBron James meme into a devastating weapon

The collective internet tilted its head a few degrees to the left last week when MultiVersus announced that the next brawler joining a roster that includes Iron Giant, Batman, and Arya Stark would be four-time NBA champion LeBron James. On top of the weirdness of an actual human being duking it out with DC heroes, players wondered how LeBron's b-ball skillset could possibly translate into a fighting game. It turns out: mostly how you'd expect—except for one move that I don't think anyone anticipated, inspired by a Twitter meme. LeBron, featured in-game with his Space Jam 2 jersey, has a fun moveset with his basketball. He can bonk players in the face with the ball, pass it to teammates, dunk the ball to create a small earthquake, and spin it on his finger to smush enemies above him. Where things start to get weird is when he loses his basketball. Until he can summon a new ball, LeBron has to fight with his hands. When you press the attack button, LeBron shoulder checks...

They're remaking the game where Sherlock Holmes fights Cthulhu

Image
Developer Frogwares is returning to its roots, choosing to adapt an old story as a somewhat-sequel to last year's Sherlock Holmes Chapter One . The game the sequel is based on, Sherlock Holmes: The Awakened, was one of the first Frogwares games I know of, appearing on Steam in the hazy days of 2006, back when you could easily keep track of everything new that came out each week. The Awakened is perhaps best remembered as the one where Sherlock Holmes and Dr. Watson take on a Cthulhu cult. The remake will include the original game, but also have updated systems and new content to fit with the framework established in Chapter One. That also means refreshed visuals at 2022 standards, new voice acting, and a better camera. Frogwares said in a blog post that it's "a dark, HP Lovecraft-inspired story infused with the narrative arc of a young Sherlock Holmes taking on his first big case." (Image credit: Frogwares) The decision was made partly due to the war in U...
