Resident Evil Is Finally Back on PC via GOG, Resident Evil 2 and 3 to Follow

The original Resident Evil is now finally available on PC again thanks to a collaboration between Capcom and CD Projekt-owned storefront GOG. An announcement from the latter revealed the classic Resident Evil, not the remastered version, is now available on the store for $9.99. GOG also announced that Resident Evil 2 and Resident Evil will join it sometime in 2024, and a $24.99 bundle is available for those who want all three games. Resident Evil originally arrived on PC in 1996 but didn't exist on any digital storefronts until now. Steam, which has the remastered version but not the original, is expected to get the classic version soon, however, as a listing for it was spotted on European rating website PEGI . "In joint efforts with the original creators Capcom, we’re thrilled to announce the re-release of the original Resident Evil, the groundbreaking series that heralded the golden age of the survival horror genre," GOG said in the post. "This iconic class

Elden Ring: Shadow of the Erdtree Gets First Patch in Update 1.12.2

Elden Ring developer FromSoftware has released its first patch for the game following the release of Shadow of the Erdtree, bringing it up to Update 1.12.2. A blog post from Bandai Namco outlined the changes, which mainly involve a handful of balancing updates. Shadow Realm Blessings have been revised, affecting their attack and damage negation curve scaling. The patch also addresses a PC bug where raytracing settings are automatically enabled if players have previously loaded save data from previous game versions. This can be addressed by visiting System, then Graphics Settings, then Raytracing Quality, and setting Raytracing to Off. FromSoftware made no mention of the bug affecting Steam Deck users that makes the game unplayable if left idle for more than five minutes, potentially leading to corrupted data. It did, unsurprisingly, note that more updates are on the way, however. "Other balance adjustments as well as bug fixes are also planned for a future patch," Fr

If Mr. House Is in Fallout Season 2, Which New Vegas Ending Is Canon? Fans Have Their Theories

This week the showrunners of Prime Video’s Fallout TV show confirmed Robert House “will be involved” in Season 2 , cementing the appearance of a major Fallout New Vegas character after a pre-war cameo in Season 1. Warning: Spoilers for Fallout Season 1 and Fallout New Vegas follow. Given the Fallout TV show is set after all the Fallout games and is considered canon, the confirmation of Mr. House’s appearance in Season 2 has sparked all sorts of fan theories about how he’ll make his live-action appearance, and what it means for Obsidian’s much-loved New Vegas itself. First, some background. Robert House appears in New Vegas as Mr. House. He rules New Vegas as a brain plugged into a supercomputer that has extended his existence from the pre-war era hundreds of years into the post-war era. Robert House makes a cameo appearance in the Fallout TV show during a pre-war scene in which the then RobCo Industries boss plots with Vault-Tec management and the heads of other companies to no

Helldivers 2 Update 01.000.403 Fixes Broken Spear

Helldivers 2 developer Arrowhead has issued a new patch for the PC and PlayStation 5 co-op shooter that fixes the Spear after a previous update caused crash problems. Last week’s update 1.000.402 included a fix for the Spear not targeting several entities (spawners, compound objects, etc). This change was welcomed by fans because, it was hoped, it would finally make the Spear weapon more reliable out on the battlefield. However, players soon found that the Spear, the very weapon Arrowhead had sought to fix, caused crashes, resulting in a fresh recommendation not to use it. Now, patch 01.000.403 includes a fix for Spear-related crashes. Fingers crossed that’s now the end of the Spear’s tumultuous time in Helldivers 2. Elsewhere, there are more fixes for a variety of relatively minor problems, and an updated list of issues Arrowhead is working on. Helldivers 2 is the fastest-selling PlayStation game of all time, having shifted an incredible 12 million copies in just 12 weeks sinc

Grab a 1TB Nintendo Switch Memory Card for Only $63.99 on Amazon

Looking to increase the storage capacity of your Nintendo Switch? Amazon currently has a TEAMGROUP GO 1TB Micro SDXC card for only $63.99. For most people, this will be enough space for the entire lifespan of your Switch and at a great price. There's only one Micro SD card slot in the Switch console so you want to make sure you get the biggest card you can afford. 1TB Micro SDXC Card (Switch Compatible) for $63.99 The Nintendo Switch is an outstanding console, but it doesn't give you much space to install many games out of the box, especially if you purchase digital games off eShop. The Switch and Switch OLED have 32GB and 64GB of internal storage, respectively, with some of it reserved for the OS. The Legend of Zelda: Tears of the Kingdom uses up 16GB and Breath of the Wild about 13.5GB. If bought digitally, those two games alone would take up all of your internal storage on the OG Switch console. Fortunately, the Switch features a single memory card expansion slot. It s

Fallout Showrunners Confirm Robert House for Season 2

Looks Like Palworld Is Coming to PlayStation

One of the developers of Steam and Xbox hit Palworld has teased the release of a PlayStation version. Pocketpair community chief Bucky tweeted adding blue-colored hearts to Palworld’s existing black (PC), green (Xbox), and white (Mac) hearts. Blue is, of course, the color of PlayStation branding. With this context, a PlayStation 4 and PlayStation 5 release now seems likely. 🖤💚🤍Palworld🤍💚🖤 I want to add more hearts, but not sure what colour would fit...hmm...how about.... 🖤💚🤍💙Palworld💙🤍💚🖤 Looks good I think! 👀 — Bucky | Palworld (@Bucky_cm) June 22, 2024 Palworld, dubbed ‘Pokémon with Guns,’ launched in early access form in January 2024 on PC via Steam and on Xbox as a day-one Game Pass title. It saw enormous popularity overnight, becoming one of the biggest game launches of all time. But it’s also one of the most controversial. Pocketpair has said its staff has received death threats amid Pokémon "rip-off" claims , which it has denied. Soon afte

Elden Ring DLC Shadow of the Erdtree Down to ‘Mixed’ on Steam as Players Complain About the Difficulty and Performance

It’s been a bruising weekend for many Shadow of the Erdtree players. The DLC’s extreme — and intended - difficulty has sparked a debate about the rights and wrongs of developer FromSoftware’s approach with this Elden Ring expansion. But now that debate has spilled over into Steam user reviews, which currently have a ‘mixed’ rating after a flood of complaints about the rock hard bosses as well as PC performance issues. Ahead of Shadow of the Erdtree’s release, director Hidetaka Miyazaki signaled the DLC would significantly test players’ abilities. "The new challenges for the player are going to be the boss encounters as well as the different kinds of threats that the world will impose on people," Miyazaki told CNET . Some of these bosses are aimed at players who've completed most of the base Elden Ring, meaning FromSoftware has "kind of really pushed the envelope in terms of what we think can be withstood by the player," he added. And so it has proved. Over

PSA: Shadow of the Erdtree's Scadutree Blessings Are the Answer to Elden Ring DLC's Difficulty

Image
Elden Ring's Shadow of the Erdtree DLC has only been out for a few days, and many players are already finding that their character — who became the Elden Lord of the Lands Between — is barely a match for the first chakram blade-wielding weirdo you can run into. These early punishing fights are merely a prelude for the raw aggression of the DLC bosses , who are able to turn you into a bloody smear on the ground with just a few attacks. Even worse, this difficulty ramp-up spares no one — regardless of your level, the weapons you wield, or the armor you equip. The key to salvation in the Realm of Shadow lies within a brand new Shadow Realm Blessing system , but if you aren't paying attention you may just miss out on how it works. With a bit of exploring, you're likely to find at least one Scadutree Fragment , which gives a short tooltip: "Scadutree Fragments can be found across the realm of shadow. Consume these at sites of grace to bolster your Scadutree Blessing

Fortnite Reload Is a New Mode With a New Map, Endless Revives, Classic Elements, and No Vehicles

Image
Fortnite is launching a new mode today, June 22, called Fortnite Reload that features a new map, a ton of classic weapons and locations, endless revives as long as one player on a team remains alive, and no vehicles. As detailed by The Fortnite Team, Fortnite Reload is a 40-player "Fill or No Fill Squads'" experience on a "tighter map" with such POIs as Tilted Towers and Retail Row, and players will be able to return to the action much quicker than other modes. When a player is downed, their individual reboot timer begins and will keep running as long as one other team member is alive. Reboot timers begin at 30 seconds and increase to 40 seconds later in a match, and teammates can decrease the time until their friends return by downing an opponent (-2 seconds), eliminating a player (-4 seconds), and wiping a whole squad (-10 seconds). While it will be great to have your teammates returning left and right, it is important to note that reboots will end towa

Minecraft Gets Native PS5 Version, Bringing It In-Line With Xbox Series X and S

Minecraft developer Mojang has released a native PlayStation 5 version in preview form, bringing the game in-line with the Xbox Series X and S version. The PS5 version adds native 4K resolution support and higher settings for render distances and anti-aliasing, settings already available in Minecraft on Xbox Series X and S. Unfortunately, there’s no word on the addition of ray tracing to either the Xbox Series X or PS5 versions, despite Microsoft teasing the tech years ago . The first preview of the native PS5 version of Minecraft is available now for testing. If you own the PlayStation 4 version for your PS5, you can test this early version by heading to Settings and then Preview within the game. This preview includes the new Tricky Trials update, but multiplayer is only possible between other players on PlayStation 4 and 5. The exception to this is playing the preview on Realms, which allows you to cross-play with players on other devices. This preview version does not have acce

Hidetaka Miyazaki Would Consider Making a Traditional JRPG, but It Wouldn't Be Related to Enchanted Arms

Elden Ring director Hidetaka Miyazaki is interested in developing a more traditional Japanese RPG, but if such a project does come to be, don’t expect it to be based on a select few past FromSoftware games. The Dark Souls creator spoke about his desire to explore new gameplay styles during an interview with Rolling Stone . He explains he isn’t interested in leaving his own mark on many previous FromSoftware IP because series like Kings Field and Enchanted Arms are too connected to the work of other developers. “I think a lot of these games are so intertwined with the directors who almost invented that style of game,” he said. “I don’t think there’s a scenario where I myself would make a King’s Field. The same can be said about Otogi and Enchanted Arms. Miyazaki continued: “I don’t think there’s a scenario where I myself would make a King’s Field. The same can be said about Otogi and Enchanted Arms." The one exception to this rule is the Armored Core series. Miyazaki served
